Legal Aid

The Lancaster Bar Association assists in providing free civil legal service for low-income residents of Lancaster County through its Volunteer Attorney Program.

All initial inquiries are handled by staff at MidPenn Legal Services (717) 299-0971. Clients must qualify within specific income guidelines. For some issues, such as divorce or custody matters, clients may be able to attend information sessions to learn how to proceed through the legal system without representation by an attorney. Its mission is to provide high quality representation to low-income people in a broad range of legal problems, while working with clients to develop strategies to promote social justice.
