Civic education in the schools is a high priority of the Lancaster Bar Association.  Lawyers and judges volunteer their time to participate in classroom discussions of constitutional issues and other law-related topics.  Panel presentations can be arranged to share information about law-related careers.

Area high schools are encouraged to recruit students to participate in the local mock trial competition; the winning team then advances to the state-wide competition, and ultimately has the potential to compete with other teams from across the nation.  The Lancaster Bar Association member volunteers acting as team coaches will work with high school teacher advisors in order to prepare the student teams for competition.
