This CLE will address a wide range of issues surrounding jury selection and the juror decision making process inherent in 21st Century juries. Topics will include what and how jurors want to see and hear evidence in a case, juror bias and predispositions, jury decision-making framework, juror learning styles and information retention, damages determinations, and issues incumbent with the verdict form.

Alicia Serpa, M.A., J.D.
Litigation Consultant, Magna Legal Services
Ms. Serpa is a Litigation Consultant at Magna Legal Services, a national litigation services firm. Alicia earned her J.D. from Drexel University's Thomas R. Kline School of Law in Philadelphia, she also received years of doctoral training in Legal Psychology from the University of Texas at El Paso. She holds a Master's in Forensic Psychology, and B.A. in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Roger Williams University in Rhode Island. For over 18 years, Ms. Serpa has used the scientific method to examine juror decision making and judicial processes. She has presented her research at conferences across the country and internationally. Alicia has a well-rounded blend of legal and forensic psychology, criminal and civil experience giving her a unique perspective on cases.
