Steve is a career-long public interest lawyer and nonprofit manager.  He joined the LBA in November, 2016.  He is the LBA's chief executive and oversees the LBA's operations, along with those of the Lancaster Law Foundation.  

Prior to, Steve directed the American Bar Association’s (ABA) Resource Center for Access to Justice Initiatives.  He worked with state supreme courts, bar associations and civil legal aid officials to improve statewide access-to-justice programs. 

Earlier, Steve served as Director of Public Service Initiatives with NALP, in Washington DC. He focused on recruitment and professional development issues affecting public interest attorneys.  Steve ran the PSJD public interest jobs website and frequently spoke/wrote on public interest career paths, attorney salaries, and student debt. Steve began his career as a legal aid lawyer with Philadelphia VIP, where he helped launch the LawWorks community development project

Steve lives in Lancaster City.  He’s a fiercely mediocre runner, except when it's windy outside.

Lisa is the director for the LBA’s continuing legal education programs, special events, and community outreach.

She earned her Paralegal Certificate from Penn State University and has been working in Lancaster’s legal community since 1993.

Lisa is the treasurer of the Lancaster Area Paralegal Association. She is also the originator and chair of the Criminal Law & Forensics Conference, and chair of the community outreach committee. Additionally, she is a proud member of the 100 Women Who Care organization, ABWA and a volunteer for the Transitional Living Center in Lancaster. Lisa is the 2018 recipient of NALA’s Outstanding Contribution Award for her dedication to the advancement of the paralegal profession.

Born and raised in Lancaster, in her limited free time, you can find Lisa cooking, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.

Charlie Winters: Project Manager, Lawyer Referrals and Pro Bono

Charlie Winters, a Lancaster County native, joins us after graduating from York College of Pennsylvania in May of 2018 with dual degrees in Human Services and Spanish. She also studied abroad in Granada, Spain right before starting her senior year. During her senior year, she interned with the Interpreter’s Office at the York County Judicial Center, learning about the importance of language accessibility within the judicial process. She was an active member on her college campus as a captain of the YCP Dance Team, Spanish tutor, and member of the Tau Upsilon Alpha National Honor Society for Human Services. She enjoys spending her free time in the kitchen baking for her family and friends. Charlie has always been passionate about helping others and looks forward to fulfilling this passion by serving English and Spanish speakers in her role at the Lancaster Bar Association.
